Treading upon the tail of the tiger. It does not bite the man. Success.
The Image
Heaven above, the lake below: The image of Treading. Thus the superior man discriminates between high and low, and thereby strengthens the resolve of the people.
Meaning
Right conduct, prudence in action. Even in a perilous situation, correct behavior ensures safety.
The six lines
Line 1 (bottom)
Simple treading. To advance without blame.
Line 2
Treading on a smooth, level path. The perseverance of a solitary man brings good fortune.
Line 3
A one-eyed man can see, a lame man can walk. He treads on the tail of the tiger. The tiger bites the man. Misfortune. A warrior acts thus for his great prince.
Line 4
He treads on the tail of the tiger. Caution and circumspection ultimately lead to good fortune.
Line 5
Resolute treading. Perseverance with awareness of danger.

Look at your treading and examine the favorable signs. When all is accomplished, sublime good fortune comes.
