The Judgment

Abundance has success. The king attains it. Be not sad. Be like the sun at midday.

The Image

Thunder and lightning come both together: the image of Abundance. Thus the superior man decides lawsuits and carries out punishments.

Meaning

Fullness, culmination, a moment of grandeur. The sun is at its zenith. The moment is at its peak—make the most of it, yet knowing that decline will follow.

The six lines

Line 1 (bottom)

When a man meets the master destined for him, he may be with him for ten days and it is no error. Going forth finds recognition.

Line 2

The curtain is of such amplitude that the polar stars can be seen at midday. Going forth, one meets distrust and hatred. If one awakens them by truth, good fortune comes.

Line 3

The undergrowth is of such amplitude that the small stars can be seen at midday. He breaks his right arm. No blame.

Line 4

The curtain is of such amplitude that the polar stars can be seen at midday. He meets the master who is like him. Good fortune.

Line 5

Lines come. Blessing and renown approach. Good fortune.

Line 6 (top)

His house is in full abundance. He shields his family. He looks through the gate and perceives no one. For three years he sees nothing. Misfortune.
